This new AHMM-designed office development has achieved BREEAM 'Outstanding'. The scheme comprised the demolition of the existing 1970s building and construction of a new 140,000 sq ft building to provide 86,000 sq ft of high quality CAT A office accommodation across eight floors and 14,200 sq ft retail accommodation and 6,500 sq ft of affordable workspace on the lower ground and ground floors.
The steppe rear form, including planted terraces to each office floor level, respects the neighbouring conditions and works included construction around an existing UKPN substation prior to its relocation into the building.
Internally, exposed concrete soffits and MEP services installations respond to the local character and the TMT and design sector occupier market.
Following a pre-let of the majority of the office space during the construction period, the team also undertook the CAT B fit-out works for the incoming tenant.
