Birley Fields Campus
The Birley Fields Campus is the largest development that MMU has committed to and represents one of the most ambitious higher education projects in the UK. MMU's aim was to develop a truly sustainable campus that will achieve a 3Z status (Zero Carbon, Zero Waste and Zero Water).
The project forms part of the University's proposal to reduce the number of individual sites from seven to two, allowing MMU to deliver their courses to an expanding student base in a much more efficient way. The building has been awarded BREEAM 'Outstanding' 2011 Multi-Residential and BREEAM 'Excellent' Academic Building.
The 20,000m² teaching accommodation houses the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Health, Psychology and Social Care.
