Lord's - The South-Western Project

At approximately £95m, the South-Western Project is a major part of Marylebone Cricket Club's (MCC) Ground Development Masterplan for Lord's, replacing the existing Tavern and Allen Stands with a significantly larger, single new stand incorporating approximately 1,000 additional seats along with hospitality and retail amenities.

The new stand includes 18 hospitality boxes and two restaurants with 250 and 150 covers respectively and will provide covered bar concourses overlooking the pitch. The design incorporates a large electronic display board, a floodlight mast and a new Scorers' Box, enlarged to match the demands of the modern game.

A new building to replace the existing Thomas Lord Building provides a reception area for MCC at the perimeter of the Ground, a transformed Lord's Tavern with a unique garden setting, a multi-functional hospitality suite for up to 300 covers and consolidated administrative offices for MCC and Middlesex County Cricket Club.

An enlarged basement with service vehicle access provides much-needed back of house space linking the buildings together below ground. The proposals create an enhanced Harris Memorial Garden, public realm and landscape scheme including a much-improved setting for the listed Grace Gates set within a new decorative metalwork entrance screen with panels which pivot to become entrance gates on match days.
