Project Marble
G&T supported Societe Generale’s Commercial Agency transaction team in its search and selection of a new 280,000 sq ft headquarters building, which included reviewing the leading commercial office buildings in both the West End and Canary Wharf, providing detailed technical due diligence reports and supporting the Heads of Terms negotiations.
Following the extensive site selection process, a turnkey transaction with Canary Wharf was recommended and we subsequently led the project delivery through all stages of lease negotiations, brief, design, procurement and construction through to complex multi-stage and phased handovers, completion and finally occupation in 2019.
The innovative new banking environment delivers cutting edge office space as well as a number of different offerings for employee and client fine dining. The office floors provide a mix of working environments to support and encourage agile working and collaboration. The new state-of-the-art trading floors will support 1,200 traders with a ‘market place’ restaurant and a winter garden with a creative interconnecting staircase linking the four trading floors.
G&T’s close working relationship with the bank was critical to the successful delivery. The excellent relationship with the senior stakeholders and development of a clear Stakeholder Engagement Plan ensured that all project stakeholders were aware of roles and responsibilities, lines of communication and authority so that the design stages were approved and delivered on programme.
