Tongva Park
The Tongva Park project involved the construction of a new 6.2 acre park, new public safety and parking facilities together with purchase of the Sears property adjacent to the highway for use as the terminus station for the Exposition Corridor Light Rail Line.
Works included the construction of observation decks, winding walkways, rolling hills and expansive lawns, picnic tables and play areas and coincided with the redevelopment of Santa Monica Place Mall, for which one of the goals was an open air facility that seamlessly connects Santa Monica's commercial core with its surroundings.
