G&T has worked with Excel on all three construction phases of this project. After the venue's initial opening in 2000, it saw an expansion in 2010 with the latest addition, Phase 3, commencing on site in 2022.

Phase 3 offers a cutting-edge extension to the venue, expanding the total area to 1.35 million sq ft and establishing it as Europe鈥檚 largest fully integrated conference and exhibition centre. The new facilities will include an additional ICC convention centre, exhibition halls, conference rooms and spacious reception and foyer areas with views over the Royal Docks -聽further reinforcing London鈥檚 status as a leading destination in the global events industry.

In 2024, Excel launched the initial stages of Immerse LDN, set to become the UK鈥檚 largest immersive entertainment district, which聽will provide a range of after-hours and hospitality options for the events industry, featuring interactive experiences across TV, film, music, art and gaming.
