The ground breaking ceremony – which took place Friday 22nd November – marks a milestone for the development and the local community. Located on the Upton Hospital site, the project has already completed demolition and service diversion works under a separate contract, clearing the way for the commencement of this modular project. Once operational, it will provide up to 150,000 additional tests annually, operating seven days a week for 12 hours each day.

This is an exciting moment for the Trust and the people of Slough. The £25million Slough CDC will play a vital role in addressing health inequalities by ensuring that diagnostic services are accessible to everyone.

James Clarke

Chief strategy officer, Frimley Health

G&T has been hugely invested in the project since the beginning of 2023, providing Project Management, Cost Management, Employer’s Agent and Principal Designer duties, along with chair of Capital Planning. The project is due to complete for Christmas 2025.

We're extremely pleased to be supporting Frimley Health Trust and working alongside NHS Property Services to help bring these plans to fruition – delivering specialist healthcare services outside of the acute hospital setting and closer to home.
