Fruitmarket

Fruitmarket

The Fruitmarket has occupied a 1930s building above Edinburgh Waverley Station for over 45 years. The recently completed expansion and refurbishment project has doubled the building's floorplate to provide multi-use flexible space that better reflects the gallery's needs.

The original building has been extended into a neighbouring Category B Listed former nightclub, with a walkway now connecting the original gallery space to a double-height warehouse. The existing building has also been refurbished to provide a new learning studio and has enlarged the café and bookshop offer. Access has been improved with a new lift, main staircase, front door and additional toilets.

The new warehouse space offers multi-artform creativity in the centre of Edinburgh, providing new space for cultural collaboration relevant for today's artists and audiences.
