Kent County Council office building in Maidstone, Kent

Kent County Council

The Council appointed G&T to undertake an FM strategy review to assess the options and benchmark the costs to identify the best future FM strategy.  We were further appointed to support the FM transformation and FM procurement to the recommended model from their existing three TFM contracts and managing agent model.

The approved FM strategy was to enhance the in-house management team, procure a single county-wide Hard FM and Helpdesk contract, which in turn acted as the single point of contact for specialist country-wide Soft FM contracts, including cleaning, security, waste and soft landscaping.

The new FM strategy provides the Council with:

  • An enhanced in-house FM management team capability
  • A long term (10 year) collaborative contract for Hard FM & Asset Management
  • Greater control and consistency of asset management and FM service provision
  • A single point of contact for all end users with improved proactive communications
  • Improved performance monitoring and reporting with live dashboards
