Maggie's Cancer Centre Manchester

Maggie's at The Christie Hospital

Maggie's Manchester is one of 21 centres across the UK which offer support and advice to people with cancer as well as their friends and family.

The multi award-winning Robert Parfett Building at The Christie Hospital, designed by Foster + Partners, is a natural timber structure with integrated glasshouse with the surrounding gardens designed by landscape gardener Dan Pearson.

The centre was opened in April 2016 by HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, the President of Maggie's.

Maggie's was founded by the late Maggie Kewsick Jencks and her husband, architecture theorist Charles Jencks. Each scheme has been designed by a leading architect to provide a 'home away from home' where people affected by cancer can find emotional and practical support.

Winner - "RIBA NW Building of the Year", RIBA North West Awards 2017

Winner - "Building Project of the Year (up to £10m)", BCI Awards 2017
