Inductive coil for current harmonics filtering in HVDC substation

NeuConnect Interconnector

NeuConnect Interconnector will provide the first energy link between the UK and Germany, connecting two of Europe's largest energy markets for the first time.

Around 725km of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) land and subsea cables, it will travel through British, Dutch and German waters and terminate into two new converter stations creating an 'invisible highway' between the two countries.

This is the first privately financed interconnector project and it will enable up to 1.4GW of electricity to flow in either direction - enough to power 1.5 million homes over the life of the project - and by sharing surplus renewable energy, which would otherwise be lost, the interconnector will help provide a more secure, diverse and sustainable supply.
