Northern Estate Programme

Northern Estate Programme

The Northern Estate Programme (NEP) is managing the refurbishment and redevelopment of a number of buildings on Parliament's Northern Estate. NEP presents a significant opportunity for organisations to secure a steady stream of work delivering a high-profile programme during a period of economic uncertainty.

The aim of this work is to increase the performance of the buildings ahead of the restoration and renewal of the Palace of Westminster, which in turn will tackle the essential work required to protect the heritage of the palace and ensure it can continue to serve as home to the UK parliament in the 21st century and beyond.

G&T is providing Supply Chain Management services, drawing from the experience of working on similar large scale projects and programmes such as HS2 Ltd and Thames Tideway Tunnel. G&T has worked with NEP to deliver a variety of key activities ranging from Market Engagement, Stakeholder Engagement, Supplier Visibility and Economic Sustainability reporting.

G&T has also developed NEP's supply chain database, designed to monitor the contracts and utilisation and associated risks and opportunities across some 300 packages and over 100 suppliers (September 2020).

The database will continue to grow as the programme progresses and will assist in the promotion and accessibility of opportunities, risk avoidance, greater visibility of respective supply chains. It will also allow the continuous monitoring and improvement of economic sustainability of the programme.
