Paul Young Energy Centre - exterior of building

Paul Younger Energy Centre

The new Paul Younger Energy Centre is one of the projects driving emissions reductions for South Tyneside Council for its target of net zero carbon operations by 2030.

The building will house a two stage 450kw air to water source heat pump which will take ambient heat from the air and converting it into low-temperature-hot-water to provide reliable lower carbon heating.

Air source heat pumps will minimise the use of traditional, gas-fired boilers, enabling the project to deliver carbon savings of approximately 319 tonnes per year.
