Springfield Estate Modernisation Programme

SWLSTG's Estate Modernisation Programme marks a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform the way it delivers mental health services for 1.1m south west Londoners.

This multi-million pound development involves the construction of two new state-of-the-art mental health inpatient facilities for both inpatients and outpatients together with university training facilities.

The new facilities, which include eight new inpatient wards, will be further boosted by the modernisation of the Trust's community services. SWLSTG has already started construction work on this programme, which will include new housing and a 32-acre park - the first of its kind since the 2012 London Olympics - as well as community shops and a café. Land will also be made available for a new school and more than £5million will be invested in new transport facilities.

Appointed in 2012, G&T has been involved through the successful SOC, OBC and FBC business case stages and now into delivery.

Over the last 10 years the Trust has worked to successfully build the case for change to support the development of mental health facilities fit for the 21st century, and also become part of the community, therefore working to reduce the stigma of mental health conditions.
