Reception area in The Ark in Hammersmith

The Ark

The refurbishment of Hammersmith’s iconic building, The Ark, was delivered with two tenants remaining in occupation on the lower levels, requiring careful stakeholder management. The project also runs adjacent to TfL assets running into Hammersmith station which will add further constraint to the delivery of the works and involve close liaison with TfL.

This project aims to provide high quality office space and is targeting BREEAM “Excellent” to ensure that this locally Listed building continues to be fully utilised and remains one of Hammersmith’s architectural gems.

G&T’s engagement is from RIBA Stage1 through to delivery, the procurement and delivery of the strip out works using a Minor Works contract, liaison with the local authority for obtaining planning permission together with procurement of the main works on a Design & Build contract basis.

The project will include improved landscaping and entrance to unlock additional area, a new reception and café area to improve the building’s amenity offering, refurbished roof terraces, a new cycle store, gym and changing facilities and a new, updated CAT A finish to the office areas on levels three to nine.
