University of Leeds - Net Zero by 2030

To reach its net zero carbon target, the University must tackle the emissions created by heating and powering its existing buildings.  Changes to the buildings and the surrounding infrastructure to use less energy combined with switching to renewable energy sources will be needed to achieve its goals.

The urban setting and the many Listed buildings restrict the generation of significant quantities of renewable energy on the campus itself, therefore the majority will need to be generated off site.

G&T is actively involved in assisting the University in a number of projects including replacing aged infrastructure in various existing buildings, securing increased electrical supply to the campus by way of new substations and undertaking numerous refurbishments to incorporate the University's net zero requirements.
