Eaton College Athens Building

Eton College Athens Building

Built on the site of a former outdoor pool, the new 4,319m² Sports and Aquatics Centre comprises a 25m pool with movable floor as well as a four-court multi-purpose sport hall together with changing facilities and a spectator area with café on the first floor.

Designed by Hopkins Architects, the three-storey building, which secured planning consent within the Green Belt, is primarily naturally ventilated with opening windows and vents, while PV cells on the roof of the sports hall provide a renewable energy source.

The new centre will be used by Eton College and partner school pupils as well as members of the local Eton community.

Winner - RIBA South Awards 2023
