Great John Street Hotel

Great John Street Hotel

Plans for the refurbishment of the existing hotel, located in Castlefield's Conservation Area, have been submitted to Manchester City Council.

Designed by EPR Architects, works will include a single-storey glass extension and an external glass lift shaft together with reconfiguration of the roof-top bar and bedroom upgrades. Sections of the mezzanine balcony will also be removed to create a double-height space across the ground floor, which will also be fully refurbished.

The Grade II Listed building was built in 1910 as Atherton County Primary School and subsequently became part of the Granada Studios TV complex before opening as a hotel in 2005.
