Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) UK has launched CREW UK Connects a mentorship programme in collaboration with LiRE (Ladies in Real Estate).
The new digitally led initiative enables individuals to build connections, network and learn from senior executives in the commercial real estate industry. A total of 30 mentors and 60 mentees will be taking part in the programme over the next six months, with G&T Associate Director, Kelli Williams, leading the programme for CREW UK and G&T Partner, Courtney Natoli, taking part as a mentor.
“I am really excited to be the Programme Lead for this new initiative. Mentoring has been hugely important throughout my career, as both a mentor and mentee. CREW UK Connects enables individuals to establish relationships across the Real Estate sector, beyond their immediate company or field of experience.”Kelli Williams
G&T Associate Director
From June until December mentees will build supportive networks through mentors and CREW UK members, have access to monthly mentoring sessions with senior industry figures and gain insight and guidance on their personal and career development. Mentors from Homes England, Deutsche Bank, Deloitte as well as many other organisations are offering two, one hour mentoring slots per month giving mentees the opportunity to book with different mentors.
The programme’s launch event was held a few weeks ago with CREW UK Board President, Siobhan Godley, Real Estate Partner at Deloitte, welcoming mentors and mentees and giving them an overview of the programme. Guest speakers included, Amanda Clack, Head of Strategic Advisory, CBRE and co-author of Managing Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace, Adina David, Director, Greystar and Founder, Ladies in Real Estate and Jennie Dorsaint, Partner, Paul Hastings LLP. Panellists discussed their own experiences of mentoring while working in the property industry and offered mentees advice on how to make the most out of this opportunity.
In the current climate, it is now more important than ever for senior industry figures and those still progressing in their careers to build connections. Studies have long suggested that identifying a mentor early in your career enables professionals to gain insights and guidance that is highly relevant for personal and career development. Young professionals will gain an advantage through this talent development opportunity and senior executive men and women in the industry will be able to mentor and give back to the next generation of industry leaders.
