"It was a pleasure spending the morning talking to year 10 and 11 students from Kingsford sharing knowledge ߣߣƵapp careers in the built environment."Emma Scott-Miller
G&T Senior Project Manager
"I spoke ߣߣƵapp my entry into the profession and how, coming from an engineering background, I had wanted to work on unique projects which would go on to shape the future of London.
As a group, volunteers also discussed how the pandemic had re-shaped their work lives, how more organisations were embracing flexible working and sharing new initiatives that have developed because of COVID-19. It was even more fascinating to hear from the students ߣߣƵapp how the pandemic had affected their learning. We explored what we (as experienced professionals) could do to better engage young people whose education or career steps had been impacted by the changes experienced throughout the past two years.
In the second session we discussed key interview tips, interview processes and how to get your CV noticed. The students had lots of interesting questions ߣߣƵapp the opportunities at G&T and it was refreshing to work collaboratively with other industries, inspiring young people after what has been an unusual year for all.”
"I hope some of the students were encouraged to explore and even join the sector."
G&T has been a partner of 15 Billion EBP since 2020 helping to promote education, diversity and inclusion within the built environment through working with schools, employers and local authorities to improve social mobility.
