Argent Related reveals proposals for a new heart for Tottenham Hale

Argent Related has this week submitted proposals for its major redevelopment of central Tottenham Hale. The planning application encompasses five pieces of land earmarked for change, supporting Haringey Council’s vision of a new ‘district centre’ for the area.

Working with AHMM, Alison Brooks Architects, Pollard Thomas Edwards and Grant Associates, Argent Related has designed a scheme with public spaces and ground-floor experience at its core. Six buildings will deliver 1,036 new homes – a mix of affordable, market sale and rental; 15 new retail spaces; co-working and office space; a health centre serving 30,000 local people and two football pitches’ worth of well lit, elegantly-paved open space with seating, greened with 75 new trees.

Argent Related is a company that brings together Argent (King’s Cross) and Related (New York’s Hudson Yards). Argent Related formed a strategic development partnership with the London Borough of Haringey in 2016, with the remit of changing the existing road-bound central lands by the Tottenham Hale transport interchange into a welcoming, colourful destination able to be enjoyed by all. After two years of local consultation and design work, the proposals show a considered, high-quality scheme which is sensitive to surrounding areas, prioritises pedestrians and cyclists, encourages visitors to spend time outdoors, and provides space for retail and leisure amenity sheltered from the busy urban environment, all of which will be curated by Argent Related.

Tottenham Hale station, located in London’s largest GLA-designated Housing Zone, is undergoing an upgrade of over £30 million to its London Underground and National Rail stations and has been proposed as a stop for Crossrail 2. London’s first new further education college for 25 years, the National College for Digital Skills (ADA), opened in 2016 and is set to move into its new building adjacent to the Argent Related sites in 2020.

“Tottenham is an inspiring part of London. Its street life, clusters of artists, adventurous young businesses, and the breadth of opinions, cultures and aspirations we have encountered have directly contributed to our proposals for Tottenham Hale.”

Tom Goodall, Director at Argent Related

G&T is providing Project Management services on the redevelopment, with proposals likely to go before LBH’s Planning Sub-Committee later this year.
