G&T Celebrates Flurry of Success in the Spring Awards Season

G&T has had a flurry of success in this year’s spring awards season, with a host of projects being recognised for their impressive construction and contribution to the industry. We’ve rounded up some of the highlights in our article below…

BCO Regional Awards 2018

April and May played host to the BCO Regional Awards, providing public recognition for top quality design and functionality, setting the standard for excellent workplaces.

Kicking us off in the Midlands and Central England awards, G&T project, One The Square, was awarded Commercial Workplace 2018. G&T provided Cost Management services on this award winning project. 

This was swiftly followed by the London awards where Here East, the former home of the Olympic Press and Broadcast centres, achieved Refurbished and Recycled Workplace of the year. The development will transform over one million sq ft into dedicated and versatile space (to find out more, read our project case study).

The Scotland awards saw several G&T projects gain recognition from the BCO. Successful projects included Edrington Headquarders, home to some of the world’s best-loved whisky brands including The Macallan and The Famous Grouse, whose new headquarters will occupy the top four floors of the recently refurbished 100 Queen Street.

RIBA South 2018

The RIBA South awards took place at the end of April and with them came two more award winning projects. G&T provided CDM Co-ordinator services on The Queen’s College, Oxford, which picked up the RIBA South Award and RIBA South Conservation Award. We also provided Cost Management and CDM Co-ordinator services on The Sultan Nazrin Shah Centre, receiving a RIBA South Award and RIBA South Building of the Year. 

RIBA London 2018

Given to projects of significant architectural merit, the RIBA London awards heralded a swathe of achievements for G&T projects across the UK’s capital. A full list of G&T’s award winning projects can be found below:

RIBA East 2018

The big winner at the RIBA East awards was Storey’s Field Community Centre in Cambridge which was awarded a RIBA East award, RIBA East Sustainability award and also won RIBA East Building of the Year. G&T provided Cost Management services on this outstanding project. 

RIBA North East 2018

The Sill picked up the RIBA North East award at the end of May. This development is a new visitor attraction that transforms the way people of all ages understand and explore their own landscapes, history and heritage. G&T provided Cost and Project Management services, as well as Life Cycle Costing, Principal Designer services and acted as Employer’s Agent on this ground-breaking project (find out more in our project case study).

RIBA West Midlands 2018

The RIBA West Midlands award was given to Shropshire Residence where G&T provided Cost Management services. 

Insider Property Awards: North West 2018

The Insider Property awards celebrated their 20th anniversary in May, handing out prizes to those developments that have helped shape skylines across the North West over the last year. 

No. 1 Spinningfields took away Commercial Development of the year, where G&T provided Cost Management, Project Management and Principal Designer services, as well as Life Cycle Costing and Construction and Property Tax Advice. This 340,000 sq ft office development provides flexible office accommodation over 20 storeys (find out more in our project case study).

G&T’s Manchester team scooped the top prize of being awarded Engineering and Project Management Consultancy of the year, a fantastic achievement by all. First established in 1989, G&T’s Manchester office has a 50 strong workforce and specialises in delivering large city centre mixed-use regeneration projects, shopping centres, commercial offices and medium and high rise residential projects, amongst others.
